SODA – Fluid organizing on digital platforms, 2022–2025

The project explored fluid organizations as constitutions built through communication, and the possibilities of computational matching in supporting communicative organizing.

DataMedia – The implications of datafication in media work, 2023–2024

The project investigated the implications that the datafication of media work environments has for the work experiences, wellbeing, and professional identities of those working in media.

PARIS – Paradoxes and Tensions of Employee’s Information Sharing on Social Media, 2018–2022

The project studied the implementation and adoption of collaboration tools and information and communication technologies more broadly. Specifically, the project aimed to deepen our understanding of the causes and consequences of enterprise social media (ESM) use and public social media use (such as Facebook and Twitter) in global work settings.

Media Work 2030 – Digitalization and well-being in media work, 2019–2022

The project studied media work and media professionals as actors in the digital media environment. The starting point in the project was that digital disruption is not only a challenge for media organisations but also for individual media workers.

FutuRemote – COVID-19 and remote work in Finland, 2020–2021

The project studied how coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) affected remote work practices and workers’ experiences in Finland. CoCoDigi-project collaborated with several universities and organizations, with the collaboration led by LUT University.

GloBound – Social Media and Boundary Management in Global Work, 2019–2021

The project centered on information sharing and the management of work-life boundaries in global work. The aim was to explore global workers’ information sharing boundaries at work, but also at the work-life interface, particularly through social media.

Somedia – Innovation work and enterprise social media (ESM) in Finnish media organizations, 2017 –2019

The project focused on technology-mediated innovation work in Finnish media organizations. Special interest was placed on innovation work taking place in enterprise social media. The project consisted of case studies in two Finnish media organizations and produced a workbook that can help media organizations streamline their innovation practices in the future.

EntNet – Enterprise Social Media, Communication Practices and Networks, 2016–2018

The project focused on how social media tools are being utilized in employees’ communication relationships and networks, what role do they play in employees’ information sharing, and how social media affordances are linked to employees’ motivation to share knowledge and use enterprise social media.
